Remember, o citizen, this day
teach it to your children
and to yours children's children
tell them
how a country in riot
one day freed itself
from the oppressor
and tell them
thousands and thousands deeeds of the heroes
on mountains, in towns and wherever needed
blocked the invader's road
don't forget the deads
don't forget to tell them
what Fascism has been
and the Nazism
and remember war
the ruins, the slaughtery, the hunger and the misery
the roar of all bombs and the cries of all mothers
remember Buchenwald
the gas chambers, the cromatoriums
and all this
teach to your children
and to your children's children
not for enduring hate and vengeance
but so they'll now what biggest good is FREEDOM
so they'll learn to love it
and preserve it intact
AND ALWAYS THEY'LL FIGHT FOR IT
Today Italy remember the day of its freedom, the liberation from Fascists and Nazists. It was an heroic operation, of course, with the alliates help, but mostly fought street by street, with few weapons and just the strenght given by the needing of freedom. Men and women gave their lives to this ideals and we must thank them for this.
Nowadays people from the government want to celebrate this day togheter with all the fascists deads, the ones who founded Salò's movement and sold Italy to the Germans so they could keep the power.
I REFUSE TO MIX WHO FOUGHT FOR DEMOCRACY WITH THE ONES STILL SUPPORTING DICTATORSHIP, this could never happen, NEVER.
